Wilco Announces Full Solid Sound 2025 Lineup, Historic Mermaid Avenue Reunion Confirmed

North Adams, MA – Wilco has officially revealed the complete artist roster for its highly anticipated Solid Sound festival, set to take place June 26-28, 2025, at MASS MoCA. Headlining the announcement is the confirmation of a proper live performance by Wilco alongside longtime Mermaid Avenue collaborator Billy Bragg, marking a rare and significant reunion for fans.

Wilco performs live on stage at a festival

Beyond the much-anticipated joint and individual sets from Wilco and Bragg, the festival boasts an impressive and eclectic lineup. Music lovers can look forward to performances from indie rock icons The Breeders and post-punk legends Gang of Four. The bill also features the captivating sounds of S.G. Goodman, L’Rain, Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band, Sharp Pins, The Messthetics, James Brandon Lewis, and Hannah Cohen.

The Bigger Picture: A Festival Beyond Music

Solid Sound has always stood out as more than just a music festival, and the 2025 iteration continues this tradition of curated experiences. The inclusion of the Wilco and Billy Bragg Mermaid Avenue performances is monumental, offering a chance to witness the live realization of songs inspired by Woody Guthrie’s unpublished lyrics, which were largely unexplored together on stage after their 1998-2012 album releases.

This unique aspect elevates Solid Sound beyond a typical concert series, positioning it as a cultural event. The festival’s broader programming reinforces this, featuring John Hodgman’s annual Comedy Cabaret with Jo Firestone, Demi Adejuyigbe, and Jordan Klepper. Wilco’s own Mikael Jorgensen will premiere a new film exploring the legacy of jazz legend Bob James.

Attendees can also immerse themselves in the world-renowned art exhibitions housed within MASS MoCA. Works by Jeffrey Gibson, Jimena Sarno, and Zora J Murff will be on display, alongside permanent installations from celebrated artists like Laurie Anderson, Louise Bourgeois, James Turrell, and Sol LeWitt. This blend of auditory and visual arts provides a comprehensive sensory experience that few festivals can match.

Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy emphasized the cultural significance of the Mermaid Avenue reunion, stating, “The world needs all the Woody Guthrie it can get. We’re thrilled that we get to bring these songs to life with Billy.” Billy Bragg echoed this sentiment, adding, “there’s an abiding love out there for the Mermaid Avenue albums, so I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with Wilco to bring Woody’s words to life once again.” Tickets for Solid Sound 2025 are available now.
