Award-winning artist Raye has issued a heartfelt apology to fans who were denied entry to her Paris show on Sunday, February 15, citing a system error at Ticketmaster. The singer is now offering complimentary tickets to future shows and signed vinyl to the 65 affected attendees.

The incident occurred during Raye’s 'This Tour May Contain New Music' stop at the Accor Arena in the French capital. Despite holding valid tickets, dozens of fans were turned away, leading to widespread disappointment.

Raye Addresses & Rectifies Ticketmaster Glitch

Raye took to social media to express her profound regret, stating she was “completely devastated” and described the incident as “completely unacceptable and wrong.” She attributed the issue to a Ticketmaster system error, which reportedly prevented 65 purchased tickets from being fully validated.

"I have been told this was a system error at Ticketmaster, meaning 65 tickets were not fully validated when they were purchased, this was outside of anything I could control and I feel saddened and let down," Raye shared in a public statement. While Ticketmaster provided refunds and vouchers, Raye went further, personally committing to offer affected fans free entry to any future show of their choice and a signed vinyl.

“I know this doesn’t even remotely make up for this mess, but it’s all I can think of in this moment to soften the blow. My deepest apologies to those of you affected. Love Raye,” she concluded, emphasizing her commitment to fan satisfaction.

Raye's Proactive Response Amidst Tour Momentum

This unfortunate event comes as Raye is in the midst of her highly anticipated European, UK, and North American tour, supporting her upcoming second album, 'This Music May Contain Hope'. The album is set for release on March 27, and she has been debuting new tracks on the road since the tour kicked off in Łódź, Poland, on January 22.

The artist's swift and generous response to the ticketing debacle is a testament to her dedication to her fanbase. In an industry often plagued by impersonal customer service, Raye's direct apology and tangible offer of compensation stand out as a model of crisis management.

Her proactive approach not only mitigates potential damage to her reputation but also reinforces the loyalty of her supporters. This incident, while regrettable, highlights the persistent challenges artists face with third-party ticketing platforms, a common concern echoed across the music industry following numerous high-profile ticketing issues.

Raye's career continues to soar, marked by the success of her lead single 'Where Is My Husband!', which achieved her second UK Number One and peaked at Number 13 in the US. The track, lauded by NME as a “jazzy, soul-pop bop” showcasing her “formidable vocal chops,” solidified her status as a global talent.

Following her ongoing UK and Ireland dates, including multiple nights at Manchester’s Co-op Live and London’s The O2, Raye is scheduled to head to North America for a spring leg before returning to The O2 for additional London performances in May.
