The Rise of a Digital Disciple: Josiah Queen's Chart Dominance
Josiah Queen's ascent to No. 1 with “Demons” perfectly illustrates the shifting landscape of Christian music, where streaming and social media now play crucial roles alongside traditional radio. Queen represents a new wave of artists effectively leveraging these platforms to build a dedicated fanbase and achieve mainstream chart success.
His breakthrough truly began in 2023 with “The Prodigal,” his second entry, which peaked at No. 4 and spent a full year on the chart. This was followed by a string of 2025 top 10 hits including “Can’t Steal My Joy” with Brandon Lake, “Dusty Bibles,” and “Jesus Is Coming Back Soon” with Forrest Frank, alongside April’s “Judas.”
Beyond digital platforms, Queen has also demonstrated significant impact on Christian radio. “Can’t Steal My Joy” topped the Christian Airplay chart, and “Dusty Bibles” climbed to No. 9 on the same chart, showing his broad appeal across different media.
Further cementing his dominance, both of Queen’s full-length albums, 2024’s The Prodigal and 2025’s Mt. Zion, debuted at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums. Together, these projects have spent a remarkable combined 141 weeks on the chart, underscoring his consistent commercial and critical success in the genre.
