Renowned comedian Dave Chappelle is set to embark on his highly anticipated Karmageddon tour this fall, bringing his latest comedy set across North America for seven exclusive dates, culminating in a headlining performance at the New York Comedy Festival.
The tour kicks off in Nashville on October 20 and will see Chappelle traverse the United States and Canada, with stops including Charlotte, Toronto, Louisville, Austin, and Houston. The grand finale is slated for November 6 at Madison Square Garden, where Chappelle will open the 22nd New York Comedy Festival.
Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of the New York Comedy Festival, expressed excitement about Chappelle's involvement. “Dave is one of the defining comedians of his generation and, without question, one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time,” Hirsch said. “To have Dave close out his tour by opening our festival is spectacular.”
In a move designed to enhance the live experience, the 'Karmageddon' tour will be a completely tech-free event. Attendees will be required to secure their devices, such as phones and smartwatches, in Yondr pouches, which will be unlocked after the show. Any use of phones during the performance will result in immediate escort from the venue, though designated areas will be available for device use if necessary.
General ticket sales for the tour are scheduled to go live on Thursday, September 17, at noon local time via Live Nation. Citi cardholders will have an exclusive opportunity to access a special presale beginning tomorrow, September 15, at 10 a.m. local time.
Chappelle's Evolving Legacy: Crafting Unique Live Experiences
Dave Chappelle's 'Karmageddon' tour represents more than just a series of stand-up dates; it underscores his ongoing commitment to shaping the live comedy experience on his own terms. Following a busy 2026 that included his outdoor Summer Camp performances in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and hosting the Diaspora Calling! Festival in London, Chappelle consistently pushes boundaries beyond traditional stage setups.
The mandatory 'tech-free' environment for 'Karmageddon' aligns with his previous efforts to create intimate, undistracted spaces for his audience. This approach, which has become a hallmark of his recent performances, allows for unfiltered engagement, differentiating his shows from the increasingly digital and often interruptive nature of modern entertainment.
From his 9/11 Charities Comedy Benefit appearance alongside fellow legends like Jon Stewart to the release of his special 'The Unstoppable,' Chappelle maintains a high profile while curating unique interactions. This tour is a testament to his status as a comedic titan who prioritizes the raw, unadulterated connection with his fans, solidifying his unique position in the pantheon of stand-up legends.
